Cephalexin is a cephalosporin antibiotic which is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria. But as an anti acne drug, as sometimes prescribed, it is not that much effective. That is why I give this drug a poor two star rating.

Cephalexin belongs to a class of antibiotics called cephalosporins. It is similar to penicillin in action and side effects. Cephaexin stops or slows down the growth of bacterial cells by preventing bacteria from forming the cell wall that surrounds each cell.

Cephalexin as an antibiotic has a wide range of activity. But as an anti acne drug, Cephalexin is not rated highly by its users. It may work for some, but I won't suggest you to ease your pocket for this product.
