Acnesil is a product which really supports the healthy moisture balance of your skin. At the same time, it also destroys the bacteria which is the real cause of acne. As such, giving this product a four star rating would not be an inappropriate thing.
Acne has many myths to its credit like, "one needs to dry out his/ her skin to get rid of acne". However, drying out the skin with harsh chemicals like Benzoyl Peroxide only causes damage to the natural moisture balance of the skin. They might prove effective for a short while, they may actually cause the acne to get worse over the time, at which point they are no longer effective. Acnesil destroys the bacteria that is the real cause of the acne, not natural skin moisture.
A study comparing Tea Tree Oil with Benzoyl Peroxide showed that 5 % tea-tree oil has a significant effect in decreasing the patients' acne by reducing the number of "inflamed and non-inflamed lesions" (whiteheads and cystic acne/acne rosacea). Acnesil uses the same ingredient, Melaleuca Alternifolia, in an even higher, 10 % formula, adding other natural acne fighting ingredients.
The customers of the product have told that this product works great. It works much better than benzoyl peroxide at preventing acne and is a highly recommend product for all.
